Transmission Line Project in Mali

MEC is executing Koutiala – Segou Section of 225 kV interconnection Project between Cote de Ivoire and Mali. Due to financial constraint the project has been split in two Phases. Phase -1 consisting of 281 locations has been completed. The work of Phase-II will commence as soon as the contracts are approved by the financing authorities. Phase-I of the contract was completed ahead of schedule.

Rehabilitation and Extension of Distribution Network in TOGO.

MEC is executing a contract for Rehabilitation and Extension of Distribution Network for CEET in 35 villages. The project office has been established and shipment of goods has commenced. The project is slated for completion in 9 months i.e. by March 2011.

Thermal Bio-Mass Project in Guinea Bissau

MEC is executing a project in a joint venture with SEMIS of Senegal in Guinea Bissau. The project is for establishment of 40 Kilo Watt Thermal Electric Power Plant using Cashew shell as feed stock. The project is slated for completion by January 2011.

Solar Project in Inhambane Province, Mozambique.

MEC was recently awarded a contract for solar electrification in one district of in Inhambane Province in Mozambique by FUNAE. The project is scheduled to commence shortly.
